No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

By all metrics but age I am eligible to be President. So let us examine John Jay’s Federalist Paper justifying the Constitution so I can dismantle the argument by which age is justified as a metric for eligibility.

The inference which naturally results from these considerations is this, that the 1 President and senators so chosen will always be of the number of those who best understand our national interests, whether considered in relation to the several States or to foreign nations , 2 who are best able to promote those interests, and whose reputation for integrity inspires and merits confidence. With such men* the power of making treaties may be safely lodged.

* When this was written women couldn’t vote or own property. Black people were property. Both were unable to hold office.

1 I believe our national interest should be reducing debt, lowering the cost of living, forcing data centers out of cities, getting our troops home safe, rebuilding interconnected community

2 When it comes to US interest not a single other candidate is going tackle the housing or healthcare issue as head on as me. And both sides have shown little resistance or blatant encouragement of data centers, further escalations in the Iran War, Aid to genocidal expansionist regime of Israel, supporting our farmers.

My reputation and integrity shall be shown on the campaign trail. However presidents from both sides have shown massive lapses in integrity. The reason I show these is to say that age does not filter for the factors of reputation and integrity.
